The Department has various procedures in place to examine data and make decisions based on it. First, we have general faculty meetings on a monthly basis, and monthly division meetings (Audiology, Deaf Education, and Speech-Language Pathology). We also have an annual, two-day retreat. Further, special meetings are held as-needed to resolve issues and make program decisions. At these meetings, we review student data as well as data from alumni surveys, employer surveys, parent and clinic patron questionnaires, placement data, enrollment data, praxis scores, and other information pertinent to needs assessments. Based on the various forms of data we routinely collect, we have continuously revised our undergraduate and graduate curricula. We have also developed new policies and procedures as needed, developed new programs in response to state and national personnel shortages (e.g, Online First and Second Bachelor’s Degree programs), expanded the number of externship sites available to graduate students, and redesigned our web site to make it more useful and consumer friendly.
