For the past 35 years, the Department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education has invited renowned professionals from all parts of the United States and Canada to present workshops on topics relating to speech-language pathology, audiology, and deaf education at our annual Summer Seminars in Communicative Disorders. We meet in a lovely terraced auditorium in a fairly relaxed summer atmosphere in the beautiful Cache Valley on the Utah State University campus. Our workshops are planned to provide cutting-edge instruction on current topics relating specifically to the professional field. Presenters generally provide many practical application experiences, hands-on training, videotape review, written handouts, and discussion opportunities. Each day is organized with ample time for breaks where the famous Aggie Ice Cream is served as one of the options for refreshments. We provide door prizes and a fun, relaxing atmosphere! Please email Dee Child with questions: dee.child@usu.edu

Viewing Options

Participants are encouraged to attend the workshops on campus. However, all the workshops will be broadcast live over the Internet via password. Districts or hospitals may choose to have all their SLPs attend together online in a specific location or individually in their individual homes or schools. Please note: In some presentations that are viewed via the internet, videos used in the classroom may not be viewable online for confidentiality reasons.

Our technical support team will assure that the audio and video quality of the seminars being broadcast is of the highest possible quality as it leaves the university.  Because we are not able to control the strength or quality of the signal once it leaves the university or the amount of Internet "traffic" during the day, we cannot guarantee the audio/video quality and will not refund registration fees for reasons of poor reception.
